In recognition of World Menstrual Hygiene Day, Swami Devi Dyal Group of Professional Insitutions organized an enlightening seminar aimed at raising awareness about menstrual health and hygiene among students. The event, held on May 28th, featured expert speakers, interactive workshops, and informative sessions, drawing significant participation from the student body.

The seminar was inaugurated by Dr. Kanika Baweja, a renowned gynecologist, who emphasized the importance of menstrual hygiene and its impact on women’s health. In her keynote address, Dr. Baweja discussed the biological aspects of menstruation, common menstrual disorders, and effective hygiene practices. She also debunked several myths and misconceptions associated with menstruation. The session covered topics such as:

Proper Use of Menstrual Products: Demonstrations on the correct use of sanitary pads, tampons, and menstrual cups.

Sustainable Menstrual Practices: Information on eco-friendly menstrual products and the benefits of sustainable options.

Mental Health and Menstruation: Discussions on how menstruation can affect mental health and strategies to manage stress and emotional well-being during menstrual cycles.

The faculty members and students participated in Q&A sessions, where they could anonymously ask questions to the expert. This interactive approach fostered a supportive environment for students to voice their concerns and gain valuable knowledge.

The seminar received overwhelmingly positive feedback from all in presence many of whom expressed appreciation for the college’s efforts to address such a vital topic.
