SWAMI DEVI DYAL COLLEGE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION
Program Objectives:
The diploma program at Swami Devi Dyal College of Technical Education seeks to provide the students with a broad education accentuating an excellent foundation in scientific and engineering fundamentals. During three years of this course, the students are expected to attain the following program educational objectives:
1. Theoretical knowledge and hands-on-experience.
2. Demonstrate strong problem-solving and communication skills.
3. Achieve leadership positions in technical or managerial areas.
4. Demonstrate engagement in addressing ethical, social, environmental and global concerns.
5. Remain engaged in continuing learning, including advanced degrees.
6. Obtain a Professional Engineering license, if appropriate.
Civil Engineering:
Why choose this course ?
Mechanical Engineering:
Being one of the oldest branches of engineering, principles of mathematics and science are applied here to create an economical solution to technical problems. Probably one of the most interesting reasons to be a mechanical engineer is that you are suitable to apply in almost all companies i.e. software companies, automobiles, construction, management, weapon design and a number of other employers are interested in good mechanical engineer. No other branch is more versatile than M.E. Have you ever imagined that even God has applied mechanical engineering in nature? Running of the animals is an example of mechanics. Look at the humans, motion of your body, arms, hands, legs, knees & feet everything is mechanical. Pumping of blood from heart to veins is again a mechanical engineering. Put on the shoes of a mechanical engineer and see the magic of mechanical engineering all around in nature.
What will you study ?
⇨ Students get trained in more than 10 labs, e.g. CAD, CNC, Automobile Engineering, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning, Applied Thermodynamics, Strength of Materials, Applied Mechanics, IC Engines, Materials & Metallurgy, Hydraulics & Hydraulic Machines and Welding, Carpentry, Pattern Making, Machine Shop etc.
⇨ The Department, headed by Er. Lalit Chahal is equipped with modern labs and workshops to prepare the students to meet fast changing industrial requirements.
Career Opportunities:
Mechanical Engineering:
Mechanical Engineers enter industry most likely assume entry-level engineering positions in areas such as conceptual product/systems design, product research, and development or technical sales/customer service. Various sectors in which a mechanical engineer can enter are:
• Aerospace ( e.g. HAL, ISRO)
• Automotive (e.g. TATA, Eicher, Bajaj, Suzuki, Hyundai etc)
• Manufacturing (e.g. TATA Steel, NALCO, Cipla, Dabur, Honda)
• Power Sectors (Thermal and Hydro Power plants)
• Maintenance/Service Engineer
• Biomedical ( e.g. RMS, Wipro biomedical, Siemens)
• Construction and Building (e.g. DLF, Unitech etc)
• Railway
• Irrigation and Public Health
• Industrial Engineer
Scope of each Course :
Mechanical Engineering:
There is a huge demand for skilled Mechanical Engineers in India and abroad. The expertise of a Mechanical Engineer is required in manufacturing industries like automobiles, aviation, etc. In the recent times and due to the advent in technology, the skills of a Mechanical Engineer are sought in fields such as nano-technology, biomedical engineering, energy conservation and more
Number of placements in each course during last three years :
The institute has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell looking after the Placement of the students. Around 200 students are well placed in the reputed companies such as:
Mechanical Engineering |
TATA Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, BHEL, Bajaj Automobiles etc. |
